I just heard a report about Ford's predicament on one of the news channels. The reporter referred to mini-vans as "relics of the past."

Lawman, you are an unique individual with a prior history of being exactly right. That's just a true fact.

George Carlin once did a routine where he went through a ton of these, including the ones above.

Some favourite linguistic redundant tautologies:

* bare naked

* best of the best
* free gift
* significant milestone
* major breakthrough
* basic fundamentals
* absolutely essential
* filled to capacity
* hot water heater
* foreign imports

* whether or not

There is no greater abuser of language than the ignorant incompetent illiterate reporter or anchor/presenter of 'main-stream-media'; s/he of the shiny whites, manufactured emotion, mutually re-enforced self-importance. I have not been able to sit through more than a few minutes of TV 'news' for years.
