Does anyone know of a color printer that produces great color prints with the waxy kind of ink at a low costs. We do a lot of full color pages and it is costing us a small fortune to keep runing them on our machine.

With "waxy kind of ink" you are referring to thermal sublimation, or rather to the silicone oil based toner printers? The latter appears to be waxy too (the output has a texture) but is more glossy.

I’m not sure. The printer we have take these ink pads that remind me of crayons.

Is it a Tektronix Phaser? If yes, you barely get better quality in that segment. How old is your machine?

yep it's a phaser but it's one of the new ones our old one went kaput and the new one cost more and does not have as nice quality. It is now made by Xerox and not Tektronix
