Here is the basic idea:
Individuals/teams enter decisions via web forms (e.g., 10 different business areas with multiple decisions in each area). This may or may not be a competitive simulation (e.g., team vs. team) but either way once all decisions are entered the simulation engine will crank out results. The results would include many stats/charts/graphs but I知 not worrying about how to handle that just yet. I知 focusing right now on the numbers crunching part.
I would like the simulation engine to work within the current site structure which is built on a PHP with a MySQL DB. So the simulation engine would grab information in the DB and return results to the DB.
Ideally, I would like the simulation engine to be something that has a flexible interface that allows me (or someone else running the simulation) to enter or adjust parameters in the simulation. I do not know if I have the technical skill to develop this since I知 not sure what exactly I知 dealing with. I suppose I could do this in PHP but I知 not sure if that is the best way to handle this. Any guidance is greatly appreciated.
It's late Friday afternoon here and the coffee machine just broke down so I don't remember the name of the game, but I think it comes up pretty easily through Google.
