Why do several posters consistently type "the" as "teh?"
Beacause I type with two fingers and very quickly with two fingers. My left hand hits the e a milisecond before the right hits the h, thus producing teh instead of the. And then I am too lazy or too preoccupied to notice and go back and fix it. But that is just me.
In Danish the (alternatively te) means tea.

I can't type filed or field - always back to front.. sheffiled, wakefiled. Can't seem to get teh symbiosis between finger and brain for that key combo.

Even if you don't have a perfect grasp of our language I wouldn't feel too bad. Most of us have a less than rudimentary grasp of your North American languages like Sioux and Iroquai.
In that you presumably have the advantage over us.
I dont know why I do this, I do type really fast and I guess I dont pay attention to what Im doing, odd thing is though I dont do this with many if any other words.

I thought maybe it was some gang symbol or the way "the" is spelled in an obscure language. Or that you (and a few others here) had new, really kewl, speed keyboards.
Actually it is an obscure language. I'll have to tell my sons to compliment girls at school with an "teh hawt" and see what happens.
