We are at a ridiculous 3.00 a gallon in the SW. I fear of some major changes of the way that we think life should be in the USA these days. If we think it is bad now, just wait. I hope everyone has the people who lost eveything in their thoughts.

That's still less than half what we're paying over in the UK. I don't like to think what petrol prices over here are going to do, but I'm pretty sure they aren't going to fall...

We are at $1.20 Canadian per litre. That would work out to about $4.00 US per US gallon. We do pay a lot of tax on gas, probably about 50% of the price. It is alot more expensive in other parts of Canada, but a little cheaper in Alberta which is swimming in oil and oil revenue.

Yesterday the price jumped from $1.09 to $1.35 (CDN) in the space of a few hours. But it's a tiny little sacrifice to pay compared to the states hit by Katrina. This "storm" will be a whole lot easier to ride out that the real one was...
Like many, my thoughts are with them rather than the minor impact on my wallet.

We're looking at $3.09USD/gallon here in Connecticut today. I filled up yesterday evening at $2.89USD/gallon. No matter what they say its probably going to go up to $4+. I'm just glad I heat with natural gas, I feel sorry for anyone with an oil furnace.

over $4.00 in Chicago.
I think its going to hit $5/gallon before this is over, and probably settle back eventually in the high $2-mid $3 for years to come.
Its nothing --absolutly nothing-- compared to what the Katrina victims and their families are going through.

In spain it's 4.61$ a gallon (0.98/litre, 3.7 litres a gallon?), and we have the cheapest petrol in the EU.
That would be 6.80$ in the UK.
This is why the Primus is becoming so popular :)
