i was just wondering if anyone had any ideas, i work in a school and a colleague has asked me to look into a system which would track pupils around the school site. We have a database already with which student is in which class and when, but what we would like to be able to do is find out where there going next easily, so for instance

John is in Room F3, French, if i design a floor plan and clicked that room i could see him listed there along with there rest of the students in that group, but it would also show what lesson he had next and where that lesson was located for instance G1. Then perhaps i could track him on a map through a standard route. Any ideas anyone - perhaps of excisting software already out there?

Perhaps some sort of RFID tag could be introduced to their lunches, then you could monitor their movements at will.

Great idea bcolflesh.

Anyone that doesn't have regular "movements" could be flagged for further investigation.

Here is a link where you can get more information:

They work together with the USDA. With this system you can always monitor where your cattle.. ahm.. pupils are.
