any free .ram /.rm to MP3?

just need to convert one song

just need to convert one song--so it would be a $20 song if I paid the $20 those programs cost. The shareware version only converts 50% of it. Searched for an hour, but all were shareware. That song is not commercial either, so I can't even buy it on iTunes.

I tried to burn in into a CD via Real Audio but something is wrong. Nothing is written and after 3 tries I gave up, because I had to reboot each time. Any suggestions?

audio hijack for mac..will do what you want ..some kind soul will do it for you if you dont have mac ..or if you are running on doze try total recorder ..neither is free but the latter only costs $11.00...not entirely sure if it will handle .ram /.rm tho..try the evaluation version to see..

maybe some of the versions of stuff incorporating the lame decoder might do what you want ..you'd have to ask in the fora at lame

if you have a soundblaster you should be able to set your recording source to record what your normal audio output is. I'm on a laptop, sem sound blaster, so I don't know what it may be, but try each source. I've done this it before and it results in perfectly good quality sound.

Then you just open a wav recorder, hit record, and play your ram/rm. It will record in real time (you need a full duplex sound card, but I think sb16 or better will do).

Save the wav and convert. (or if you're using something somewhat recent it may let you save right to mp3). much easier to convert a wav to mp3 than rm..
