He reasons that if you look down at your fingers, it slows you down. But if you use a blank keyboard, after a while you will stop looking for keys and start touch-typing properly.

Come to think of it, I've even seen watches like that with just an hour hand.
I have to confess never took to touch-typing, but even without my fingers touching the keyboard, I can type reasonably quickly without looking down.
I do press the occasional wrong key though. I imagine that a keyboard like this would get very frustrating when trying to type in a long password where each character shows up on the screen as just an asterisk.
