A while ago I installed Firefox on dad's computer. He's been spyware free (thankfully) but I've just finished a half hour phone call in which images on one of his favourite sites had simply stopped working.

We eventually found that the site in question had been added to the "exceptions" area in the options beside "Load Images" (under "Web Features"). The strange thing is, he has no idea how to get into the options dialog, no idea where the exceptions box is, yet that one site was there!

This isn't the first time either, not long ago the option "for the originating web site only" somehow became checked and Amazon's images disappeared. Same story, he has no idea how that could happen.

Has anyone else noticed this strange behavour in FF? I'm beginning to think he has begun sleep-surfing...

Does he right-click sometimes? If you right-click an image, you get an option "Block images from example.com" - he probably selected that by accident. If he finds other sites with missing images, if he clicks an empty space where the image sould be he will see an "Unblock...", so it is easy to undo.

Thanks for that :) I'll pass that on.
