Diffusing the "your jealous" argument

Sometimes when raising concerns about someones legitimacy people respond with the time honored "your just jealous" defense. This argument, despite having its origins in preschool and displaying the defenders lack of imagination, is a tough one to diffuse.

How does one counter these kinds of "your with us or your not" type arguments?

Show them that whether or not you're jealous is irrelevant to the argument:

You say I'm jealous - I say I'm not. That makes us even; now let's get down to the actual issues here. Even if I am jealous, the facts remain the same.

"I know you are, but what am I?"

I would tend to use lawman's apposite response.

The response to "are you with us or against us?" is "neither".
