Interestingly enough, Sri Lanka means: resplendent/wealthy (sri) land (lanka) in sanskrit. It used to be called Ceylon, but nobody can figure out why. :)

If we are talking about real names...there is a county in my State named after one of my ancestors which is also my last name. There is also something very interesting about my ancestral past, but that would be off topic.
