Can't think of a word...

Ever have a word on the tip of your tongue, but just can't...... quite..... recollect..... what it is? Well, this one has been bugging me for hours.

I'm attempting to write a product description for the stone Opal-the October birthstone. The word I'm looking for is akin to "diverse", and I remember it being used in reference to athletes who possess many skills, or are able to play multiple positions.

Multi-faceted
diverse
able
etc.

But, I can't think of it. I've used the thesaurus, dictionary, and google. but for whatever reason I'm not able to find it.

I'll know it when I hear it. (and it probably won't apply...) Any Ideas?
