While sometimes the subsance at the output is not the same that one in the intake, separating them is not the main purpose. For some applications, the substance is exactly the same in an out, and you can feed a lot of different stuff in there.

It does not combine gas and liquids. But it can use compressed air, steam, and all kinds of current fuels to work. It could theorically use nukes at some extent to land man on Mars in 2012.

The device can be used as a turbine, it's one of it's multiple theorical possibilities.

It does not need much lubrication, can replace a propellor engine and could theorically be used as an hybrid with a jet engine.

It is currently planned to be used in a rhather impressive cogeneration plan. It can be used as a cogeneration turbine.

Notice the casing is almost oval in shape. The rotary engine (Wankel engine) would be it's early version.

It's a Quasiturbine or Qturbine.

Theorically, it could save up to 60 % in fuel for the same performance. It can be used as a turbine, an engine, a pump or enven a compressor.

I first learned about it when some local college students made a zero emission Go-Kart [quasiturbine.com] (French only) from this prototype engine.

It also pop second place for "hydrogen engine" on Google last time I tried. Very promising prototype.

hehe I cant remember the exact term I used but I did find the go-kart page.

I was convinced it was some sort of gas impeller until you mentioned the rottary engine part.. that got me to thinking.. the steam drives the gizmo, rather than the other way around.
