I was digging through quite a few old Foo posts yesterday. They stop going back somewhere in 2003. What struck me was that I was able to look back into the lives of a good many of the members, old friends, and new. Little snapshots of what everyone was thinking "back when". Old interests, new interests, humor and strife.

From Macguru's toilet humor to the popular Gizmo quiz, including Lawman's "not the gizmo quiz" offerings when for whatever reason, the Gizmo quiz didn't appear.

Foo is often underestimated. Sort of the junk drawer of the fora. But man, what incredible "junk". ;) Cat lovers? Foo's got 'em. Stereo freaks? It's in there. Man's best friend? Yep, Foo's got it. Green thumb enthusiasts? Several. Seems to be several bird lovers in there as well. And musicians. Word lovers. (not the MS variety). Looking for pet peeves? Well-documented in Foo.

Foo is where we find the closet physicists and astronomers, the book lovers, gearheads, guitarists, gadget lovers, humorists, carpenters, animal lovers and cigar aficionados.

Foo is where we're afforded a peek behind the mask of business owners, marketers and coders. It has always been my belief that Foo is integral to the strong community that WebmasterWorld has become. People arrive for whatever reason, and stay to "chat" around the watercooler.

Here's to Foo! And the rains from hurricane Dennis that allow me the time to foo-l around in Foo. ;) If you have the time, poke around in Foo a bit. Some of those old posts are gems.

There's some good stuff in the really old threads in the Foo Archive [webmasterworld.com] too (before my time and all that, though).

Yes WebmasterWorld wouldn't be the same without Foo - and it just shows the incredible diversity of the crowd we have here.
