Yo, I am not an Indian webmaster but I been in most of the places you have mentioned :)

I would go for Tamil nadu cause I like Thali's, chicken 65 and masala dosa's.

from time to time all webmasters face unique challenges /issues (for eg trademark, paypal etc) and they may be unique to a particular country (eg India)....in such circumstanes it helps to know each other and share collective wisdom...

Ok. Guys, My first few paisa (not Penny ;-)) worth. Is there no Govt policies to prevent foreign natives and companies who live away from India, or no relationship with India Booking domains with .in extension?

Just reading after this section, I thought of booking a domain name webmasters.in, and my idea was making an exclusive forum and Directory for Indian webmasters, who live and work from India.

I found the domain has been taken by a firm <snip> Which is not an Indian company and also the sponsoring registrar <snip> is also not.

Guys can't people in India and having nationality in India and registered in India can not have .in domains of what we want?

Am do not remember, But am sure some countries restrict such bookings of domains.

Your valuable thoughts please.

agbenny, feel free to register a .co.uk no matter where in the world you are. If you can register a co.uk from India, why can't I, an Indian national - or anybody else for that matter, register a .in from here in the UK?

you can register .in and all third level .in domain names from uk as its public registry. you can refer to registry.in for more detail.

since i can not post urls here i am not posting here but there are now more than 1000 websites from which you can register .in domains anywhere from world.

Well, India is full of creative people who are good at design, and ofcourse Indian are known worldwide for the programming skills.

It is important to come ahead together and form a open forum or a body but keeping out the self-advertizing interests.

I have felt ( and I am sure some of you too also would have felt ) that due to the hard working nature and economy of design services in India, there is a certain amount of felling of itch in 'some' of the fellow webmasters from the western world. Few of them so often come out in open and try to show the itch.

Maybe its due to misinformation about Indian Webmasters or the difference is payments that west corporate world prefers to give to Indian webmasters as compared to the western webmasters.

There is simply a differnce of point of view.

Webmasters from the west say " Indian Web Design is cheaper because India is a growing economy"

Indian Web Designers say " Western Webmasters charge much more because they need more to live their life"

International Corporates say "Get the best bargain"

Thats where a little itch starts.. ( do you think I am right? .. Please do comment )

Also, Do you all agree that we must have an open forum for Webmasters in India; and we must keep it free from self advertising and finacial profits?
