It is a miserable day here on the wet coast: intermittant rain, wind gusts, fog; feeling very damp and chilly. So have decided to take the day off in front of the crackling fireplace and wander through a DVD just delivered (with accompanying blueprints/specification book).

I have been working with an architect for a couple of years to design a replacement for this old place and the DVD et al is final plan confirmation. It is astounding. My very own virtual world.

It is made from site photos, digitised wood/fabric/tile samples, etc. Can use the mouse to wander about the exterior, go in any of the doors and through the house - looks more like being in a movie than in a game enviroment. Click on a wall/floor and the wiring or plumbing or hrv or heating coils show up exactly where they will be when built. Zoom in for detail, zoom out for "walking" about or overview.

It is absolutely incredible. But I must put on my client nit-picker persona - once approved this is what I will get. Mustn't let the glamour of technology sway my decision ... but golly gee whiz it's neat!

and absolutely cool. I'm jealous. I want to do something like that too. Is this an application or some of your own stuff?
