Javascript errors while surfing

While surfing internet I get java error object doesn't support this property or method. I'm running win XP Home with spII installed. I am getting this same error on another machine (Laptop) on my network as well. Help Please.

depends..
some scripts do that on purpose as a "test" to see what your using. I assume you have debugging on. Turn it off.

This could be completely wrong for you so deliberate carefully before heeding my experience.

Are you running Norton AV software or other Symantec utilities?

If you are, I could relate a 10-year recurring nightmare but I will spare you. :-) In the most recent case, with XP, the only solution I found that totally returned my comp. to my control was to format the drive and install a slipstreamed version of XP (that is, installs XP with service pack 2 already in it.) All my problems went away. Grisoft AVG, it's free, it updates, it stays out of my way.

In Internet Explorer, go to...

Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Browsing > Display a notification about every script error

Is that checked?

I keep mine checked as it will show errors that many will miss when implementing JavaScript.
