Too scared of contact lens

It is only me or everyone has this? The thought of putting something in my eye is too scary, I just cannot wear my contact lens.

I did manage to wear it once but could hold on just for a minute :(

any tips, which can help me?

I am using Bausch & Lomb Optima - they are soft contact lens.

you hafta ease into it, starting with a few hours a day. I've been wearing them for over 20 years now.

I started wearing contact lenses in 1992 before going on safari in Kenya (didn't want to be lumbered with my glasses). I never had any problems with them at all. In fact, I'm currently taking part in a strictly-monitored study for a new contact lens you can wear 24/7.

When it comes to putting something in your eye, I suppose it's easier for us women as we are used to wearing eye-liner, mascara and the likes :-)

I can't stomach anything coming close to my eye. It just gives me such a creepy feeling!

Give me my good old glasses any day!

My wife had exactly the same problem, she hated the thought of putting something in her eye. After hesitating for years she went for it and now gets her contacts in within a minute without even blinking.

She says its the best thing shes ever done.

With help and encouragement from you guys finally after a week I could wear my contact lens. They don't hurt my eyes and are very comfortable. Today I am wearing them for the whole day. Even right now as I am wearing them as I write this post.

The only problem is that I am still not use to them and cannot stare at the monitor for long time. Thanks for all your help :) without WebmasterWorld I would have not seen the world as it is.
