Gmail vs Yahoo mail

Should I stay or should I go?

I have a Yahoo account and I am wondering if I should go for Gmail.

Yahoo mail
*****************
What I hate on Yahoo mail:
1/ too many clicks (e.g. three clicks to see a picture)
2/ still get plenty of spams.

What I like:
1/ It is free and will remain free since it is not a beta version like Google
2/ Antivirus

So should I stick to Yahoo?
Thx

Surely G-mail is and always will be a free mail service. I thought thats why they placed targeted ads on the site? Please correct me If I'm wrong...

I had a Yahoo account (still do) but prefer Gmail - Its Labels and capacity are a big draw + I get very little spam (touch wood and whistle).

Try one and see what you think - it's a preferencial thing.

It is the "surely" part of your post that might need moderation ;) Google has gone to great lengths to state that they make no commitment that Gmail will even continue to exist, much less always exist in its current form. So there is no "surely."

I can't imagine them dropping it, but they have not committed to it. Might be part of the whole strategy to make people want it - who knows?

This seems likely. Get us hooked first and then maybe start to charge for it.

They have never indicated they would charge, at least not to me, I am sure of this ;)

That much we are sure of. ;)

I hope my post didn't indicate otherwise.

Got 110 emails over the WE, 90% spam... Well, I am not satisfy with antispams in Y.

I am willing to try Gmail <snip>

I very much doubt that gmail will charge for it in the future.

For tomda,
well if you like simplicity and fast loading times then gmail is great for that. But I would try it first...
