Hi there,

I dont know if here is the suitable forum for my question but i couldnt find any forums to ask my question if it isnt appropiate please move it and i am sorry.

My question is that i am a webmaster and have been doing web sites and getting money from internet about 7 years. I never got any technical education and learnt all by myself, actually i studied accounting and never saw e-business as a real business. Although, i spent some time on accounting now i notice that actually i am an e-business person and found a 4 year e-business degree program. I checked the program details and the graduates find emplyment in

Marketing information specialist
Supply chain/logistics specialist
Business/financial analyst
Web content manager
Ineternet Marketing, etc..

Now i am thinking what is the feature in e-business in north america (i live in canada) and does it really worth to leave my 2 years acounting diploma (even tho i dont like accounting)and go for another 4 years degre.

I would appreciate any answers on my issue since i am really confused on this matter.

Thank you very much.

Sincerely..

Forget the degree. I think the WWW opens up all manner of opportunities for people with know-how that comes from self-training and proven competence, instead of degrees. IMHO the degrees these so-called schools grant are not worth the paper they're printed on, much less the tens of thousands of dollars you will spend or incur in debt for the degree.

That said, since I happen to own EBusinessSchool.tld and EBusinessCollege.tld, if you send me $25 with a stamped self-addressed envelope I'll send you a diploma/degree if you really must have one. ;0)

P.S. You know I'm kidding, at least about the degree, right?

Hmmmm, i believe that is much more that involves in e-business than webmastering such as crm, supply chain management, prouct analysis etc. and on top of that big companies look for degrees from reputable schools, that is why $25 degre would be more expensive for me than tens of thousands of dollars ;)

If the program is run by Cal-Tech, U. Chicago, U.C.L.A., a major State university, a top flight private college, etc. then great - go for it.

If the program is run by one of the online universities or their ilk then run with your money.

It's actually hard to give advice without knowing the particular institution. My advice really goes to the higher education institutions that excel at marketing themselves . . . and not much more.

But, I promise, a degree from EBusinessCollege.tld Inc. will open many doors for you - so long as you keep smacking the doors long enough and hard enough with a big enough wad of EBusinessCollege degrees.

You gotta learn to read the small print.
