This report in the Scotsman newspaper suggests that texting and email can cause a reduction in brain power :)

"The impairment only lasts for as long as the distraction. But you have to ask whether our current obsession with constant communication is causing long-term damage to concentration and mental ability."

Like, concentrating on beeing constantly distracted, right?

You get busted. Here's how it works...

(1) You order the cannibis.
(2) You smoke the cannibis.
(3) You order 14 pizzas and ask if there's anyway the delivery guy could pick up four or five boxes of Twinkies on the way over.
(4) The FBI is tipped off and you get busted.

Uh-oh. I probably send 50-100 emails a day! And I constantly read them and do work based on them. I even post here which can't help! All of these things are making me more stupid than smoking weed all day?

Screw SEO... I'm becoming a pot head. I'll be smarter at the end of every day because of it... right?

Now, how to support my new job as a pot head? SEO?

"A study of 100,000 school children in over 30 countries around the world testified that non-computer using kids performed better in literacy and numeracy schools than PC-using children. Education experts have dubbed it the "problem solving deficit disorder"."

[theregister.com...]

I've always suspected that this is true, there's so much hype around computers that schools just fell for it without waiting to see if there were problems with sitting in front of a computer screen all day doing absolutely nothing real except moving your fingers around a keyboard. Obviously that's going to have an affect, dugh.

When you toss a ball back and forth you learn about physics, you train your mind to deal with the physical world, when you talk to someone in person you learn about socializing since you have an immediate feedback mechanism based on the person's response to you, which teaches you how to socialize, when you look at various emulations of these processes you learn about emulations. Virtual means virtual.

What are you going to do after you shut down your email to preserve brain cells?

You should watch TV, according to the NY Times: Watching TV Makes You Smarter [nytimes.com]. :)
