Need a better SPAM filter

Hi guys,

SPAM assassin, which comes free with my hosting service, doesn't filter a lot of the spam I get.

Is there a free script or service I can use to filter out SPAM better?

I even thought about paying a service, but I have like 10 domains to filter SPAM. Is there a solution for this?

SpamBayes works quite well on your local machine. I've been using it for quite a while and in all that time I have never detected a real message being marked as SPAM. It's a great last line of defense in concert with SpamAssassin or by itself.

Don't forget that you can train SpamAssassin to use Bayesian filters as well. It depends on what version you're using and how your host has it set up, but in most cases it's quite simple to train. Like any Bayesian filter, the more you train it the better it gets.

Some email clients also have bayesian filters. Opera M2 has and I believe that Thunderbird has too. And then there are those programs that let you see your emails on the server without actually downloading them. I have tried both MailWasher and Mail Box Dispatcher. In my view the spam filter in MailWasher works best, but it has the disadvantage of only being free for one email account.

Well, Outlook 2003 also has a filter, but I really wanted to filter on the server level. Before actually downloading the emails.

skuba, try mailwasher - it connect to your server and you tell him which email you want to download and bounce the others.
