93 years ago today that the "Titanic" went down

At 2.20am on the 15th April, 1912, the great ocean liner Titanic disappeared beneath the ocean waves forever, with the loss of more than 1500 lives.

Apparently, many of those who perished were the wealthy and the "movers and shakers" of that era. Curious how history would have unfolded if they had survived.

I've read quite a few books about the Titanic. Of course they all feature more or less the same deeds of heroism, but you wonder how many other heroic deeds were performed that night that nobody saw or noticed?

While that is true, most of the dead were from steerage and therefore poor. This happened at a time when there was massive immigration from Europe to North America.
That is some cold water in the north Atlantic off Newfoundland, horrible way to go.
