I just bought myself a digital camera (Pentax Optio S40) and have been playing around with it in general.
Last night I filmed a friends band playing live. For one section I had the camera 90º from horizontal (being artistic LOL) and now, of course, when I watch the results, everything is sideways :(
Does anyone know of a (free) editor I can use to spin the image or will I have to spin the monitor :0
I can't seem to find a programme that does this, free or otherwise.
It's a shame, 'cos the guitarist is up there playing with his teeth and the drummer is climbing up on his drums (these guys are VERY good, apart from the show stuff) and I wanted to mail them a copy and possibly put bits on a website.
I road manager for them, so I'll be able to film them again, but I'd like to know if I'll have to keep the camera horizontal all the time.
Oh, by the way, the camera is fine, lots of useful controls and excellent results.

If you're on Windows, VirtualDub can do this and much more - and it's a free download too (GPL license). The documentation's a bit patchy, and the program is a bit clunky, but it's the best I found.

[virtualdub.sourceforge.net...]

Grab the stable version, not any of the experimental builds. The install method's a bit clunky too: I find the best way is to create an empty directory in Program Files, unzip the files into it, create a shortcut for virtualdub.exe on the desktop and run it from there.
