A fish that has a pattern resembling a human face on its body was found in a pond in Chongju, South Korea, according to a Local 6 News report.

Think it's real, or is it just another Virgin Mary Grilled Cheese Sandwich scam :)?

I remember koi with similar patterns in the pond at Krotona in Ojai CA back in the mid 50s. The fish had probably been there inbreeding for 20 years at that point, which might equate to hybridizing under some circs.

We used to sit on the stone coping for hours, waiting for "the Man in the Moon" fish to come up for food....

At least it makes a change from all those humans you meet with fish faces.... and wet fish handshakes...

The "man in the moon" looks like a rabbit in Japan.

In Japan, there's a popular docu-news tv show about ghosts, and after all the recreated stories, they get to the "shinda shashin" pictures. These are regular photos that ended up revealing some kind of ghost image (shinda means "died"/"the dead" and shashin is "photo"). Some of these are just weird -- a person's leg is inexplicably missing, or there's an extra hand in the photo. Most are just blurs that can resemble a face.

I've read that the ability of the human mind to resolve scant visual clues into recognizable patterns is amazing -- that's why we can find people in crowds and see pictures in clouds. Why a squiggle can look like a human profile. Why Jesus appears on distant moonscapes. And why fish can have faces on them.
