Early next year I will be in San Diago and I have to meet a friend also for his stag weekend in Vegas.

Now I am not fussed that much by casinos so if you had 4-5 days to kill what would you recommend.

1. Should I fly from one to the other or is there some real good things to see on the 350 mile trip.

2. Should I spend my time in either or, bearing in mind I will be in Vegas for 3 days doing the casino type stuff.

3. Something else?

Cheers

Personally, I like the Mojave desert. If you haven't seen it and have wheels,
I would recommend a nice easy drive. This is a good time in the winter.

You might consider a stop in Joshua Tree National Park.

Skiing in Tahoe! Reno can be quite fun - I did some trade shows there a while back. I think there are a couple of members here who might be able to help you.

Or you could fly into Vegas and head out to some of the parks in Utah (not too far away) - spectacular scenery.

Your stay in Vegas could be profitable if you have a laser scanner and like roulette :)

I as well will be in SD early in January, and have also thought about travelling to Vegas for a night. We're going to drive, I want to check out the desert.

If you're going to be in SD, go have a fish taco at The Tin Fish across the street from the convention center (on the water). They are one-of-a-kind.
