after years of clanging away at the keyboard and staring at the computer screen, is everybody's eyes, wrists, elbows etc. working just fine?

My eyesight is becoming worse - mind you it would help if I had them tested. The last time was about seven years ago...;-)

My doctor assures me (just had physical etc. last week) that I am far healthier than most women he sees half my age. My eyes are better now than when I first started wearing glasses at 20; I don't have any wrist problems; my back is fine just now (I've had my share of troubles with it in the past - NOT due to sitting in front of a computer, btw!); and I have the bone density of a 30 year old. I'd be in slightly better shape if I'd lose 25 pounds.
Apparently I am HEALTHIER than the proverbial horse....

Back problems. Here is a little story. One day I was walking home from work. My back had been hurting all day. All of a sudden an agonising pain hit me in my back, I fell to the ground and couldn't get up. Fortunately I had my cell phone on me to call the ambulance... That was fun... NOT. I am getting physical excercise and pads for my shoes. It wasn't completely due to sitting all day, but that certainly did not help.
I also get some wrist and elbow stiffness, but it really doesn't hurt much nor is it serious, just an enyance.

>>if I'd lose 25 pounds
Talk to some british member, I heard someone could trade those 25 extra pounds for a magic bullet. Clearly a Win/Win situation.

From using computers about 14 hours a day, I begin to worry about my mental healt.

I needed to get glasses and a new chair. I have learned the art of smoke breaks, even though I do not smoke...it helps alot with getting me through the day, by just taking a 5-10 minute break every few hours.

My wrists are not at their best by a long shot but other than that it's all good so far.

Ive Carpal tunnel syndrome in my right wrist, must use supporting pads on teh mouse mat.
Worst attack ever I lost the use of my right arm for about 5 weeks, so it can be serious.

Not a carpal whossit in sight ..
You should do an hour or so ( or even more ) sculpture ( not pot throwing ) with wet clay every week ..very good for the hands and wrists ..and clearing the head / mind ....

I've got a very intense love-hate relationship with my RSI prevention software. I'm a nice and gentle person ;) but this tool drives me mad several times a day. On the other hand, no carpal tunnel probs here.

Leosghost: so's bread-baking from scratch, kneading the dough by hand (she says, as she uses her Kitchenaid Mixer to put together today's batch....)
