Etch-a-Sketch or Magna Doodle?

So which is better, Etch-a-Sketch or Magna Doodle?

I prefer the Etch-a-Sketch due to the quality of work produced and the skill needed to produce it. But my partner says Magna Doodle due to it's ease of use.

In my era Etch-A-Sketch was the only option so I'm partial to it. But I thought the eternal debate was Maryanne or Ginger?

The problem with magna-doodle's is they don't last that long. My three and five year old didi it in, in less than a year. Surface scarring, dead patches you name it.

Double Wow! Some of those are amazing, well all of them actually. That's sure to make me feel inadequate when I pick up the Etch-A-Sketch next time.

I agree on the durability, our kids' Magna Doodle is shot too. Our Etch-A-Sketch is like new. There's one at my parents' house that's been through 6 grandkids and still ticking.

Etch A Sketch - Durability, and quality of drawings, hands down. (Lite Brite is in a class of its own - you can simulate pixel by pixel drawing with that sucker, if you don't mind the weird offset grid.)

Ginger - Sucker for red-heads, always have been.

It's all about demographics.

Magnadoodle reigns for kids 2 to 5.

Etch-a-Sketch is the classic but is really for older kids. I'd say 5+. My youngins don't have the patience or dexterity for it yet.

Man, wouldn't that be a bummer if you accidently dropped your Einstein Etch-a-Sketch drawing. How long do you think it took to do some of those drawings? Amazing.

I just wonder what kind of superhuman patience it takes to do one of those intricate etch-a-sketches. They drive me nuts to the point where I don't have the patience to make a square or a zig-zag. LOL!
