I have just returned from two weeks endless sunshine in Crete and I had a great time eating all that Greek food and drinking Retsina wine. From those who have tried it how many people like Retsina?

I adore it.... it's one of those love it or hate it things though - no middle ground!

Greek retsina is usually OK ..ex Yugoslavian retsina on the other hand has more hangover potential than anything else known to humankind ...been there ..done that ...OW!

I have never heard of Yugo Retsina but then I have never been there. Are we talking about the same thing, i.e. resinated wine?

Yep...also depends on the wood type that the barrels are made from ...even here in France I have seen "cheapo" plywood staves in supposed oak wine barrels in major vineyards ...after 3 months the thin veneer of oak falls off and you get ureaformaldehyde ( plywoood glue ) .."poison" in your oak aged wine ....
