Also, there is no clear information about how the program actually works. It mentions: "Both editions of GhostSurf provide an anonymous, encrypted Internet connection" - I believe that means that they are providing an anonymiser-type service through proxy servers, but they are encrypted in what way? Where does this layer of encryption start and end?
From what I can gather, it uses lists of "anonymous" proxies, updated daily, but not proxies controlled by them. So in reality, you can't be sure that the proxy server you are connecting through is genuinely anonymous (and not sniffing every keystroke of your traffic). Most anonymous proxies are unintentional on the part of the server's owner, and they get shut down within a few days: it is questionable whether your use of their resources is legal, and it is rarely ethical.
Finally, PestPatrol considers GhostSurf to be spyware - it may be an error on their part, however.
