New legislation recently introduced by a group of powerful U.S. senators would allow artists and entertainment companies to sue creators of products, such as peer-to-peer (P-to-P) software, that "induce" copyright violations.

Will FTP authors be included? What about web sites that offer file storage like Yahoo? Or free Web Sites

My understanding of US law is even more limited than my understanding of the subtleties of the English language, but I wonder if "intentionally" may be the crucial word?

Well we at it, let create laws that will allow the public to sue gun manufactuers, knife manufactuers etc, etc for the harm they have done, by creating devices, that will allow people to kill each other.

Well we are at it, we should ban all new technology, as it may infringe on one group or another.

I guess inteligence, is not one of the factors, required to run for the US Senate :)
