Game 7

There is anything but quiet before the storm in Cowtown.

Ok, I admit it. I'm from Calgary (aka Cowtown), and my life over the past couple of weeks has become more and more dominated by the NHL playoffs. Just like pretty much everyon else in town.

I had to go downtown this afternoon for a meeting, and I barely made it out before they started closing down certain streets, at three in the afternoon (a full 3 hours before game time), as various "bar-strips" started filling up, and the crowds were ALREADY spilling onto the streets.

Its going to be an interesting night here in the home of the white stetson, where black cowboy boots are considered acceptable dress shoes for business wear, and more recently, red Flames jerseys have become the MANDATORY office attire.

Win or lose, this is going to be one very loud city tonight.

Go Flames Go. Bring home Lord Stanley's cup and do us proud.

Alas, it wasn't to happen tonight. Great game though.

Well, it was a good game. Too bad Calgary only showed up for the third period. ;-)

Overall, it was a great run, and seeing as Calgary only barely made the playoffs, the boys deserve credit for taken it all the way.

And Tampa sure played hard too. Can't take anything away from them. They earned the cup, so I only feel a (little) bitter.

If we can see a few more playoffs like that, then it'll really breathe some life into the league.
