A British teenager posed as an espionage agent in an Internet chatroom to persuade a friend to stab him to death in a complex and bizarre suicide attempt, a court was told.

This is kinda screwed up scary. Way to much time on children's hands these days.

Natural selection at work?

For the boy that got stabbed, hardly "natural" selection!

As for the boy that did the stabbing, goes to show how easily manipulated (some) teenagers can be.

Scary.

I meant in the Darwin Awards sense.

ie. people who are colossally stupid remove themselves from the evolutionary chain.

Teenage years can be tough. Sometimes we need to save them from themselves so they can grow up. Can't even count the number of stupid things I did that could have made me a victim of "natural selection".

Ronin - I know what you meant (and I loved those awards of a few years ago - man pulling Coke machine on top of himself etc!).

But it's not natural selection through stupidity - the kid wanted to commit suicide.

Okay, fair enough. I take it back. I should know better - I went through a pretty confused, insecure, awful stage of psychological development between the age of 15 and 17... I guess a lot of people do... finding one's identity is not the easiest process in the world especially if an individual is not prepared just to sit back and let life happen to them. I take it back.

Join the back of the line if you want to talk about that one!
