Does anyone have any recommendations for booking cheaper flights. I don't fly too often so I am not up on the best deal sites. (Opodo and Travelocity are too expensive).
I am not concerned about quality becasue I have a natural ability to sleep in any transport. I once slept 8 hours on a flight across the pond waking only once to eat. I have been told I'd make a good space traveller ;)
Your advice would be much appreciated

I have used this method a few times to NYC, best price I got was £96.00 (BA) worst price £168.00 virgin.
Last month I got a flight to Boston, 3 people, accomadation 4-days in nice hotel £590.00
You may need to visit a few agents.
Not really reccomended if your travel date is not flexible.
ps I always book accomodation via the internet, but transport details are usually generic prices and rarely show "real discounts"
I picked a random date, flying out on the 1st of August and returning on the 14th ... £392 (+ £71 tax). Play round with the dates, if you aren't tied, and you'll get it cheaper. If not, keep an eye in the back pages of the Daily Mail. There's always a bargain to be had in there.
Best of luck!
jeez, did you check the route..you could be going via the alps...adds another few hours on an already long flight.
(some companies do not make the stop-overs clear)until your tickets arrive) a give-away is the departure and arrival times)
I nearly fell for it once, manchester>nyc...via london rejivik 18hrs lol and it wasn't all that cheap.
I once flew London Heathrow -> San Francisco on Alitalia with a 2 hours stayover in Milan. The London to Milan leg was delayed by nearly 1hr 45mins so it was a frantic rush from one side of the airport to the other. The price however was awesome, 209 gbp and we actually flew back over Heathrow on the Milan to SF leg. Work that one out.
As for advice with finding the best DIRECT price, I would always advise phoning the airline themselves, asking them about their pricing structure and if your dates are flexible find out what they can do for you. Any prices for direct flights that I have travelled have been the lowest taking this approach.
