I just got my sister-in-law her own domain as a graduation gift. I got basic level hosting and an email address for her. I figure, for the price, even if she only uses it as an email address, it's worth it. I got her a .org name for what she graduated to be. I mean, you have to admit, having a vanity email address is kinda cool.

Anyway, I was wondering, have any of you ever given a domain as a gift or am I the only web freak here? (okay, so I know I'm not the only web freak here, but in regards to this, am I?)

Nice idea.

A former Danish minister has her first name as a domain. It was given to her by her friends.

Yup gave my father a domain name, 1 year of hosting and some time designing a template for him for his birthday. He really appreciated it and now has a hobby site ranking well in the SERPS, he is now thinking of applying for adsense.

Domain names make excellent gifts. Especially as "vanity" email adresses.
