I would like to know wich are the top 3 news channel in UK and their approximated market share. Maybe the question does not make sense locally. I just have a few blanks to fill for some rough equation.

There are only five terrestrial TV channels in the UK, supplied by two news organisations: BBC do their own and ITN supplies news to ITV, Channel 4 and five. I think Sky is the biggest supplier of news from satelite.

Don't know market shares. But the competetition is not really between the channels as such but between their news and current affairs programmes. That's what I originally thought you meant. I'm not sure how you could calculate market share of channels, although you could get share of viewers watching, say, Newsnight.

I'd forgotten about SKY. I had a manager at a London Dixon's try to pitch me on SKY network. I told him I didn't think their coverage area extended to Alaska. Still not sure how, after talking to me for five minutes, he thought I lived in the UK. hehe.

they look pretty much on the money

however there's another factor here...the three main news providers have very different briefs, and that may be relevant

Sky is populist and generally does expanded sound bites more than news...think Fox News and then look at who owns both :)

the BBC range from short high impact item bulletins through to detailed investigations of a single subject and regional coverage...they also have good science and technology and foreign correspondents

ITN fit in between...they provide a range of news coverage but not as wide as the BBC
