I've been looking at a laptop with a 855gm intel chipset, which includes the intel extreme graphics 2 technology intel data [intel.com]. It's an ultraportable, and according to dell, just won't fit a dedicated graphics card.

I'm not a big computer gamer, but I want the option to run some graphical games on the computer. This isn't a cheap purchase, so want to make sure the system will last me 2 years.

Its shared memory, but the system will be running 1024mb of ddr sdram.

Has anyone tried to run stuff like MechWarrior, EQ, etc with this type of technology? Doesn't have to be perfect, I can use low frame rates, just want to know if it'll even work.

Thanks for any help.

Haven't played EverQuest but I think Mechwarrior 4 might struggle on this laptop. 1 Gig RAM might help a bit here though.

One of the reasons for not going for Intel extreme graphics is the support for games. Some games might not work on this system at all.
