travel from new york to washington

advice from the locals.....please

im flying into jfk soon and need to get from there to washington.

any advice on best/cheapest/easiest/quickest ways, and relevent travel co's i need to get in touch with would be much appreciated.

D.C. or Washington state?

If DC, there are tons of flights everyday from JFK or LGA. Or you could take a train (Amtrak). They're about the same price. Flying will save you an hour or so.

Yes, I forgot about the bus (Greyhound) option. That will be much cheaper. Probably wont be more than $50 round-trip.
