Anyone know much about the Nintendo Gamecube's online stuff?

Specifically, has it got a web browser?

Howdy,

Noticed this in my user agent logs for yesterday:

GBrowseit!/0.1.2 (C) 2003 Nintendo Inc

But I can find nary a reference to it even through our lord and master Google, bar it appearing in some other server logs. Anyone know who/what it is?

The name might suggest G(amecube)Browseit, but could equally well be some spambot trying to be cute, especially given as far as I can tell there's no such Gamecube app.

Can anyone shed light on this important and highly critical mystery? ;)

If it has an ethernet port, someone has built a browser for it - I regularly get hits from web-enabled Dreamcasts, it seems probable to me that a Gamecube browser exists - it does seem strange that there aren't any Google refs to it - too new?

Hmm "browseit web browser" shows a discontinued piece of software that was included w/a bunch of PDAs and Handhelds - maybe someone did a port for Gamecube...

It's possible. Seeing as some bright spark got a Linux distro running on a Cube I'm not ruling anything out.

As long as I don't have to start adding 'Best viewed on a Gamecube' disclaimers to pages I don't think I'll let it bother me too much!
