satellites would be visible in the night sky by employing sunlight reflectors, with multiple satellites linked together to create a message large enough to be seen

Dying from exposure on the reaches of Mt. Everest, my last glimpse of this world is McDonald's announcing the return of McRib.

Can it get any worse?

I moved to Southern CA last year, and was horrified one day to see Toyota logos across the entire horizon. Turns out they had a skywriter going up and down the coast making an endless line of Toyota logos.

What was the Robert Heinlein story that was similar? I think he proposed placing advertising on the moon by crashing rockets filled with "ink" in strategic spots to form words.

I think it's "The Man Who Sold the Moon" from the anthology of the same name:

That's the one! All I could think of was "The Moon is a Harsh Mistress", and I knew that wasn't it.

Let's hope this doesn't catch on! Just think, you can advertise tobacco in other countries, but not the USA... well, here's the avenue for Marlboro to break back into the advertising world! Not that I oppose advertising for ciggarettes, but the whole hemisphere would see the ad.

I don't think it would be spelled like that Macguru. Wouldn't it actually be:-

8u.y ch-eAp v!@gr@ 0N;L!ne

I don't think I'd be able to read it now if it was written any other way!

>>hunter-killer satellite technology

Backyard rocket enthusiasts will have something to aim for. Surely, most of the planet would rise up against this.

I imagine this would cause the extinction of some species somewhere in the world.
