I'm on WebmasterWorld several times a day, keeping track of several different forums and trying to keep up with all of the posts. On those weekends when I fail to login, trying to catch up the following Monday can be an ordeal.

I'm going to travel to Italy for a week and won't be able to support my several times a day habit while I'm there. I dread the thought of trying to cover a week's worth of posts when I get back.

So here's the thing: if everyone could please not post from the 13th until the 23rd, I'd really appreciate it. ;)

If you hop by Murano, a couple of vases for me, could be a bright idea, photon.

Yep, I'll be in Venice towards the end of the week, and I'm planning on checking out Murano and Burano on Friday.

So vases for Macguru, coffee, wine, and gelato for Eric.

Remember, if you guys post that week, the deal's off. :)

Anyone else?

That Italian chick from the old (UK) Fiat Punto Ad please (any red-blooded male who's seen the ad will know *exactly* who I'm talking about).

If you can arrange that I will personally crash the WebmasterWorld servers and keep them down for you for the 10 days.

Deal?

excellent...I'm partial to Segafredo if you don't get time to drop by one of the fabulous blend your own coffee shops...and some of the Emilia Romagna Sangioveses that aren't for export are delicious...if you go anywhere near Cesena, Rimini, Ancona, Fermo or Santarcangelo give them a wave from me and tell them I'll be back one day

You realise that by creating this thread you will have yet another thread to check when you get back?

LOL

trillianjedi--

Sounds like if I find her, I'll want to keep her for myself!

You're right, and she's probably a pain in the neck anyway.

I'll take the ice-cream.

The girl will make you poor and suicidal.

The ice cream will make you fat and happy.

Will you still be willing to crash the site for the ice cream? :)

I returned today from five days in Venice. The best wishes to 'my' beloved city from me. Get me a sopressa veneta with garlic please.

bull--

What exactly is that? It sounds good (anything with garlic...).

Any suggestions for sights to see?

photon,
it's a sausage, similar to a salami.
Sights? Depends on what you are looking for, what your interests are. Architecture freaks will get satisfied virtually everywhere. E.g. romanticists will not necessarily get what they want on Murano. What I definitely recommend: get a portable chair and sit down on piazza San Marco at eleven-thiry or twelve in the night, when the schoolkids are gone and it's quiet.

That does sound good--I'll keep an eye out for it.

I'm looking at my 2 1/2 days in Venice at being a "soaking it in" kind of visit--just walking wherever I end up going, and enjoying what's right in front of me.

After a whirlwind four days in Rome trying to see the sights there, I think Venice will be a welcome cool breeze.

It's all those angry people in a certain forum. Most of them never visit Foo.

How was your trip photon?

It was excellent, thanks for asking. The best parts of Rome were the Pantheon, the Vatican, crossing the streets, and San Crispino's gelato (not necessarily in that order!). Venice was beautiful--if you ever go make sure you take the side trip to Burano, about thirty minutes by ferry. The colorful houses there were very pretty. Had fun talking with some of the artists in Murano about their glass. Took the obligatory gondola ride, which was actually more enjoyable than I thought it would be.

All in all, with the exception of the hotel room in Venice, it was great!

But can someone explain to me why the glass in showers in both Rome and Venice only stretches halfway across the side of the tub?

* envious *

Have to sit in this rainy, cold and over all unfriendly Munich - and wait another four weeks to return to beloved Italy ;)
