I have a Lexmark Printer Z55, it was working fine for awhile but
it's been acting up. It allows me to print once and then nothing.
When I re-start - it allows me to print once but then nothing again?

Anyone can help?

Try and download the newest driver offered for your printer, that may solve a lot of problems. If that doesn't do it, un-install it and re-install. If that doesn't throw it out the window. ;)

Hi fashezee,

It sounds like the control board is on it's way out. There are several test to find out where the problem is.

1. Does it self-test ok? (test print without the computer)
2. Does the problem still remain if you change the cable?
3. Is the problem there after a reinstall?
4. Does the problem occur if you setup the printer on another computer?

I'm going up to the workshop in a minute. I'll get the manual and have a chat with the guys.

If that doesn't throw it out the window.

That would change the sub-title of this thread to "Bounces once and then dies".

Went to buy a Brother Drum unit for my HL1435 Laser Printer. Went to future shop and the same printer with drum and toner was cheaper than the drum unit, itself.

So I bought the complete printer and saved $40 bucks.

So I guess laser printers are now becoming one-off disposable products.
