hard drive temperature

Has anyone experience with some free software to display the hard drives' temperatures, including SCSI drives? Any download recommendation?

While there is software to display what you want, it cannot be done without some hardware in place to measure the temperature. Check your computer's bios. If you have any of that in there, then you can worry about downloading a program capable of reading that data.

i think that any drive that is S.M.A.R.T.
compliant will output the data when queried.

I thought any newer hard drive has some built-in temp sensor? Currently I am testing ActiveSmart which reports also these temperature values - no idea how correct they are, but the prize the manufacturer wants for this piece of software seems me a little too high, that's why I am asking for cheap alternatives.

Check silentpcreview forums for recomendations. There is a tiny free utility that sits in your systray and reads out temps.
