Hi all

I have a bizarre problem :(

Outlook express and outlook will not send emails, it gives a time out error logging onto the mail server.?

Check my network, every things fine, even checked the machine off the network on dial up,same error.?

There is no problems with the pop server, another machine retieves mail no problem.?

uninstalled and reinstalled tcp/ip?

I have tried everything, cant fix it!

I now have two machines with the same problem, one XP and one NT.

Any ideas what to do next?

Karl

<added> this is the error message :

A TCP/IP error occurred while trying to connect to the server. Account: 'pop.xyz.co.uk', Server: 'pop.xyz.co.uk', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC15

I have this problem once in awhile, too. Usually, it means the server is having some kind of SMTP problem.

However, if you just switched ISPs, your new ISP may not allow you to connect to any SMTP server besides their own. You might try using their SMTP server instead of your own for outgoing emails.

Its definetly not a problem with the isp, if I hook a different machine up with the same mail settings I can send and receive no problem!

I've even tried a different isp's server, but I get the same message.

Its just on two machines, the rest are fine?

Thanks Chndru, but that was my first point of call.

Nothing there left to try!

I was hoping someone may of had a similar experience.
