####################################################
There is a freakin company which is amongst the world's top ten by forbes list in top 5 in oil etc etc .. takes loads of interviews .. for me they took 9 rounds of telephonic ... once flew me to paris from switzerland, once to koln..once to malaysia ..frokker i felt like a pig in a 5 star retreat ( the hospitality was excellent )... Was just enjoying the fun of it all until they selected me way back in september end and started looking to place me somewhere ..feb and they scanned all of england / plus other locations and they are still looking ... blasted off the HR calling them a bunch of morons ... basicaly end of a fairytale... something like 30k pounds an annum was decent enough for me at 23.. seems i just kicked it all... impatience got the better of me or better still i got to being myself :-).. may be it was all a dream and they would not give me anything anyway .. cheers to this one

Chill'in' the hood - with a icy waterpipe, and constantly oldschool rap in the background, - beastie boys or arrested development or something like that.

I go to the gym and hit the weights.

I do it easier: I hit my home's walls ;)

I have also a program called anti-stress that a friend sent to me some time ago. It tooks a screenshot and then put in your hands some destrution tools, like a hammer, termites, flamethrower... these tools make nothing bad to the computer, but they modify the screenshot image breaking icons, windows, etc. I use to run it when I find a photo of bill gates. It's very relaxing, and is a good way to canalize violence and anger without harming.

Definitely... There is nothing better than to release your adrenaline against something purely virtual...

Ok, heres what I do:
[I'm already a geek - so don't need to be ashamed :)]
Get a pen, get a paper, tell any of your friends, relatives, family etc to write you some hard maths sum's (or get some from the net) and work on them.

I work like for 2 hours on about 30 [hard] maths sum's, and can NOT leave them until they are finished (thats me :)).

This is what I gain:

  • I improve on my maths
  • It keeps me relaxed and away from the computer :) (or anything else)
  • passes time

    Completely agree
I have two computers with Quake III Arena installed and a brother. That's all what I need to relax ;)
If some of you want a versus, sticky me ;)

    Greetings,

PS: Xaero was railed by Herenvardo ;)

getting better .. sleep helps a tonne, wonder if something does better than sleep ....
    digressing a bit
strange... I never knew so many of us felt the same way , and that i was not alone... girlfriend is not a part of solution and should be avoided like the plague in a crisis. Always had this guilt within me ...but looking at yur responses whoa i think none of us thinks of talking to them as a solution..i am glad...feel vindicated
    cheers

    Maths?! Relaxation? You crazy dude...

Personally my choice would be a bottle of wine and a curry in front of the television.

Quake III? I still like Quake I. Nothing better than making a "bloodflower" out of my opponent with the rocket launcher :)

Start playing didgeridoo. You'd be surprised about how relaxing that is and you don't have to be profi to do some realy relaxing sounds.

I go hiking... short or long, new place or old familiar one near my home, doesn't matter. Just get out and away from the computer and stress for a bit.

Theres also one more method I cool down:
    (an anti-geek one)
Play 'Pool' in Yahoo! Games, although I loose many times, its a good experience and improves my aiming skills.
