Who would you nominate as an "internet guru"?

I would like to do an article of the who's who, specifically in internet marketing, seo, etc. Got any names for me? I have some, but I want to compare.

Thanks! :)

Well, there is that guy with the same last name as mine (though very frequently misspelt ;) ) and the not very exiting web design.

"Public, or privately Known"

..doesn't matter, if they have the "guru" success story, I'd love to hear them!

Basically, just want to do a Bio of each, how they got started etc. No secrets to success have to be revealed. Yes, you can nominate yourself if you feel your accomplishments are worth of the title "guru". If you want to nominate privately, sticky me.

DrDoc, shame on you. :) The internet was someone else's baby. It's the Web that Berners-Lee is credited with. For an interesting read on the subject, check out Where Wizards Stay Up Late.

I belive Bush is the father of hyperlinking. I belive Ted Nelson was the first to use the word "hyperlink".
