Refinding a website

How would you do it?

Hi All,

I have recently reinstalled all the software on my computer. However, I forgot to save my favourites. I don't really mind most of this, however, there was one website which I need to find again. How would I best go about finding it? This is what I know:

It is the forum of the website that I need.
The forum was in a subdomain of lawian or lawain.
The main domain reminded of the word 'whatever' but was missing 1 or 2 letters.
Don't remember the extension.
Wasn't listed in the Google (I found it through another website that was listed)
Still can't find it in Google
Can't remember what my search was.

Is there any way of me finding it? I have no email from the forum (even though I signed up to it under this username).

Your help is greatly appreciated.

Bernard Johns

Search Google for "spacemonkey profile" - that brings up registrations from a lot of boards, maybe one is yours.

Welcome to the board Bernard.

I'm not sure whether the suggestion that vmcknight suggested would work. As you stated it is not in any search engine.

My best advice would be to search for similar sites and hope that there is a link from one of them to the site you remember.

You might also want to try alltheweb.com. They're sometimes better in identifying obscure pages / sites.

Can you remember some unique word you typed in that forum? If the forum was crawlable, you could search for spacemonkey <word>.

Even the topic of the forum might help you to find a list of such forums.
