It's that time again;

Santa is busy buying Playstations and Barbie cosmetics, Turkey's are very nervous and sprout farmers are very happy.

So I was wondering if you were getting into the Christmas spirit?

There's a 'fuddle' at work today and Christmas party tomorrow. We have a 'Bran tub' and the office looks like Santa's grotto - complete with tree, lights miniature santa's and elves! last night when at my freinds house they spontaneously erupted into Cliff Richards 'mistletoe and wine'! The cringe along my shoulders has become became increasingly wide and doesn't appear to be waning. I am defintley more Dickensian Grouch than Carol Singer.

Humbug!

Are you kidding? The christmas decorations went up on december 1, I've had losts of hot christmas wine, christmas beer, all sort of christmas sweets and I am feeling festive! For me, christmas is just another excuse to eat and drink stuff that's bad for you.

And I am proud to say that I have bougth nearly all christmas presents online and it looks like they might even arrive before christmas!

I feel that I am too busy to even think about it. That said I have most of my presents - just need to wrap them.

My family celebrates the Solstice instead of Christmas, so my holiday is coming up really fast. I can't wait though.

I think having kids helps alot. Kids get so excited and it's infectious. All my two year old is saying right now is "Santa, toys. Santa, toys." My seven year old, who is still a believer, is really psyched. I suppose this is the last Santa year for him, but I am glad to have this last year of innocence to enjoy.

Rather obsessed about Christmas :) Tree up, Mince Pies daily, preparing my voice for the carols at midnight Mass and oodles of Sherry and juicy sausages wrapped in bacon. Wonderful stuff...

Just one thing,
It's good to see people that celebrate Yule (or Solstice, depending where you are in the world) here in WW! :)

I like Solstice so much better. Not being a Christian, I always felt sort of funny celebrating a Christian holiday.

My husband has a son who spends Xmas at his Mom's. Makes a traditional Xmas morning kind of hard. So since neither my husband nor I had ties to Christianity, we decided to switch. We've been doing it for 4 years now.

I like the Solstice better. The ideas behind it are much more relevant to my belifes than Xmas. I just wish that more non-christians, athiests and the sorts would switch too. My kids and I have awkward moments trying to explain what we celebrate. The first time I had to ask a boss for that day off for it, she looked at me like I was making it up or just plain crazy.
