Have you ever been criticised about your work/site? (I know I have) If so, how badly and how did you handle it?

Yeah, I once excluded a major french ISP due to multiple use of "offline browsers" against my quite visible TOS. One wrote to me via his university (which was not banned) how bad my idea was - in a not really friendly manner. Ignored his e-mail, but detailed my custom 403 page a little bit. In the meantime I removed the ban, but serve them a warning page setting a cookie before they can get the page they want :)
