Request for Email directory?

Today I had a request on my website for something that no-one had asked for before. Some random visitor asked me how they could accesses an email address directory or list of my subscibers?

Is this a resonable request to a webmaster, or is this more likely an attempt to get a list to spam to?

Is there any ideas on what I should do about this?

I don't think this is reasonable at all, unless people who have given you their email addresses were explicitly told the addresses might be passed on.

I'd ignore the request. Don't even get into correspondence with anyone who'd ask for such a thing.

I agree with TheDoctor.
Why would someone take so much trouble (opening OE, writing, sending...) to ask for a e-mail list, unless that person wants to SPAM them? what else can he/she do with the list? just view it? take so much trouble just for "viewing e-mails"?

Ignore it.
